I’ve seen a few of these floating around and decided to give it a go… If I get enough I’ll go for my chest surgery, if not, I’ll put it to school and groceries. Nothing will go to waste. I labeled this fund as being for college because I don’t want my mum seeing x-surgery and flipping her lid. Every little bit is appreciated. http://xearin.chipin.com/college

Silence is Golden

Everyone quotes it but how many people truly know what it means?

Recently, I’ve taken to learning ASL and the best/most accurate way to learn American Sign is straight from the source. Silence speaks, and it speaks in volume. Just this morning my mother took it upon herself to inform me of what a massive embarrassment I am.

She ignored it all at first, hoping it would just go away or so I can only guess but now that’s real and passing is becoming a part of my daily life she can ignore it no longer.

Amongst the deaf.. I am simply me. I’ve gotten curious questions about the name changes but no one reacts to it any differently then they would any other piece of casual news. I could have dyed my hair for all they care.

They may just not be saying anything for the sake of being polite but in times like these, silent, polite support is better then no support.

Name Change

Started the process on 10/12 and got a little busy with college. Finally got my finger prints in and a notice that they need certain info from me. Hopefully this means I’ll get my hearing soon. Yey.

Unbound.. ish

My mother noticed my binder a while back and the cat is out of the bag. It went surprisingly well and soon I will start gradually (re)orientating people to my new name to be. Here’s to hoping I get my name change hearing soon.

Coming out.

I am male. I was born with this knowledge, I fully suspect I will die with this knowledge and although my biology doesn’t agree with me, I expect to correct this mistake someday. I’ve already been there. The hatred, the naysayers, the fearful little children still clinging to their understandings of what defines ‘gender’. The closet is cramped and smells like old shoes. To all my brothers and sisters abroad. Shine on. Shine on.
